Individual Artist Grants and Services Program - Investing in the Future of Ohio's Artists
Individual artists are making a difference in communities across Ohio every day. They illuminate community identity and help us understand and imagine our lives in new ways. Our lives are richer and more remarkable because of the contribution of artists to the social, physical, economic and spiritual fabric of our neighborhoods and towns. The presence of artists in a particular place is a strong indicator of cultural vitality. Businesses, new and old alike, need places where work and play come together in creative and dynamic ways. Artists living and working in a community affect the extent to which arts and culture are integrated into the schools and the number of non-profit arts organizations, theatres, art classes, galleries, and venues for live music in that community.
The FY2015 Individual Excellence Award Deadline - September 1, 2014
The FY2015 Individual Excellence Award application will open June 1, 2014. This year we will be accepting applications in the following visual disciplines: crafts, design arts/illustration, interdisciplinary/performance art, media arts, photography, visual arts 2D and visual arts 3D. Please read the Guidelines before making your application and pay special attention to Appendix J which is a listing of the support materials that are required for each discipline. Applications are accepted through our OnLine Grants Application system (OLGA).
If you are submitting digital images for your application (required in all disciplines except for film and video in the media arts category and performance art) then you will need to resize your images to 1920 pixels by 1920 pixels square with black borders. We have provided two Powerpoints to help you through this process. If you are using a PC then follow this step-by-step Powerpoint to resize your images using the free-shareware Faststone Photoresizer. If you are using a Mac and have Photoshop then this Powerpoint will walk you through the process of resizing using that software.
If you have questions about Guidelines, support materials, resizing images, how to write your narrative or which discipline to apply to contact program coordinator, Kathy Signorino, email@example.com or 614/728-6140 or program director, Ken Emerick, firstname.lastname@example.org or 614/728-4421.
